Work was pretty good yesterday, despite having yet another new case.  Had time to get laundry done and also sign up for benefits for next year

Not much after work except exercise.  Talked with dad, the TEE did show a little vegetative growth but the ID doctor wasn't too concerned.  They want him to get IV Abx 3 times a day for 6 more weeks.  Initially they were talking about having him do that at home, but more recently they're thinking about doing that in a rehab center.  Which seems a waste of time and money, just for IV Abx, but it might prove too tricky to manage at home.  We'll see what the final decision is today, chances are he'll be discharged today or tomorrow

Nothing unusual going on today after work, just the usual grocery shopping and exercise

A bit warmer today, in the upper 60s, although it will rain almost the entire day

Good morning!

Joe, hope your father gets to go home.  Home infusion here does not come out three times a day.  Most likely to go home your father himself or girlfriend would have to give it to him.  It's not rocket science so he might be able to do it.  Sometimes we ask the doctor for an alternative to three times a day and sometimes they will come up with something and sometimes not.

J22, sounds like a lot going on.  After this last hurricane some places had no water for a while as the eastern county had theirs shut off.  I kept water but we were under a "do not drink" order.  Thankfully we have plenty of bottled water set aside for the hurricane.  Me, who thinks he's an invisible 20 year old still brushed my teeth and took a shower like normal.  Which actually turned out okay but probably wasn't smart.

I have the air conditioner guy coming by for a routine turn up.  I pre-pay for two check ups a year.  The electrician might be able to swing by today and do some minor work, otherwise he's booked until next month.  No biggie.  Otherwise housework.

I voted and walked right up without a line but waited until after rush hour.

Hi. It's a nice, cool day here. The plumbers were able to come today, yay! They are almost finished. They had to make quite a few modifications to bring us up to codes that have changed in the last few years. The estimate is $3500. Gulp. But it has to be done, and I had some $$ accumulated in savings, so I won't have to touch retirement funds. dh didn't appreciate me saying hot showers were his birthday present. 

I did my first gym visit today, and I'm going to be sore, but in a good way thats says I'm using muscles that have gotten lazy. Online trivia tonight, that I hope will keep me away from watching election results. 

It seems like I recall patients with CADD pumps from home that infused intermittent dosing, but maybe I'm just inventing that. It would suck to go home with a PICC and have it clot off because an infusion stopped and didn't get attended to. Seeing vegetations probably contributed to the duration of treatment.
