Hello~
Just back from the daily errand run: post office, bank, and grocery store.
Tweety~ Yep, I bet hubby's 'crash' will be coming within this coming year. I have been turning hubby over to God I don't know how many times a day, and that does help me, because I know *I* have nothing else I can do. Like I've said before, with all the things wrong with him, it's a crap-shoot what'll get him first, because of the vodka.
But, I do feel better that I've decided they are going to be paying me each month, from their Social Security checks. I have not quite pinned down how much $$$ I will be charging them yet, but next week it starts, as Nannie's SS check is deposited on the first Wednesday of every month. (Hubby's SS chk comes on the 3rd Wednesday.) When I start getting irked, I say to myself, "it's okay, I am working a job (or jobs!) for pay now." Whatever I do pay myself from their funds, at least I won't feel quite so put upon (well, in theory, anyway.)
Hubby woke me up 3x last night because he couldn't get his 02 canula to stay on, and because he seems to never be able to tell which way the nasal prongs are supposed to go..... I finally fixed it the way MOST people wear it, around the ears and tightened at the nape of his neck. He wanted the tubing placed as if it was a high ponytail, at the top/back of his skull, but it won't stay put there.
Nannie thinks the mourning doves are chickens, and the squirrels are kittens.
Welp, it is now time for me to dash out for some take-out supper. I gave them the choice of take-out or something from the freezer (which is well stocked.)
There's a ballgame on at 7:20 PM. We won over the Twins last night.
Prolly will check in w/ you guys later.....
Checking in, but nobody's home! Well, that's okay because right here where I am...*I* am home, Nannie is in bed. Had to help hubby put on the nasal canula again, and hopefully he will go to sleep now. I'm going to read for a little while.
Oh! A quick post from Ado is here!
I gotta tell you though, the Braves won over the Minnesota Twins (Not the Reds) tonight. Terrific 1st inning: the Braves got 4 consecutive Home Runs!
So, tomorrow's excitement will be: _____IF I get up mid-morning instead of at noontime, maybe I'll go out to get my nails done. I also have a triple load of shredding to do. I'm trying to contain my enthusiasm.
Sleep well, y'all! ?

Good morning!
J22, yes definitely worth having that hematoma looked at for compartment syndrome. I've seen people have to come back in for an evacuation and even need a blood transfusion. Hoping it doesn't come to that and most likely will just need some time. When best friend had his hip fracture he had home PT but not OT but was given written instructions. That's annoying for your sister. I wonder if the bathing is an out of pocket expense? Hope she continues to recover.
Yes, alcohol trumps everything...finances, marriage and relationships, even a roof over the head. One thing for sure and it's not an if, but when, is that Mr. Stars is headed for a painful crash and burn. How that will look is anyone's guess, but Stars you are powerless over his addictions. I'm sorry you're going through this along with responsibility for Nannie.
The insomnia bug got me. Stayed up late reading and fell asleep reading but in the wee hours had trouble staying asleep. I had a 1/2 cup of coffee at 7pm and need to cut myself off of caffeine earlier.
Having a "GPM" meeting with my retirement advisor(s) today. I always forget that GPM means "Goal Planning & Monitoring". So we will go over how my funds are doing. I think this year they are in the positive range but I'm still $70,000 down from my peak of a couple of years ago. I filled out a planning form and sent some documents about my other 403B at work and my SSI statement. I also revised upward what I think my monthly income should be because of inflation and the high cost of hurricane, car and flood insurance. We'll see how it goes. In the past I've been encouraged, but they seem to want to stay positive whereas my default is pessimism.
Have a great day!
