Tweety I hope your packing goes well and your shoulder settles down

TMB hope the wind stays away and the air quality improves

Stars I think it's fine to take it easy, given all that you do

NJ22 glad the dogs were OK

Hi Dianah

Work was pretty slow yesterday, although it picked up near the end but overall was fine.  Things will be getting busier next month as we will be transitioning away from using the case management assistants to help us make calls and such.  While I am concerned about the increased workload, I haven't found the assistants to be particularly helpful or competent, so perhaps the change won't increase the workload as much as I would think

Not much else yesterday, exercised, continued to edit the dating profiles and did some more research on dating apps

Tonight we have book club, delayed from 2 weeks ago due to weather

Will get up to the mid 30s, the threat of freezing rain should be gone as well

12:30 PM: I just got up...very reluctantly. I believe I could've slept on and on, except I looked at the clock. Last night I was feeling tired at 1 AM, so I decided to call it a night, but tossed and turned for an hour and a half. So I got up and read for an hour or more, but still felt wide awake, so I gave up and took a Xanax (I hadn't taken one earlier because I thought being so tired, I wouldn't need it.)

Weather is going to be rainy-ish for the next three days, but the temps are supposed to be 53 today, 64 tomorrow, and 72 on Thursday. I had to look to see what day of the week it is, and I was wrong ... I thought it was Monday, but nope, it is Tuesday.

I have decided to try the CVS store brand of Neuriva, to see if it will help any with my 74 year old brain. I'll give it a month to see if I can notice any difference or not. Maybe it is just that "my wheelbarrow is over-flowing with manure," because I think that may be the case. But on the off-chance that it is something age-related and can receive a boost from a "brain health" supplement, I figured what-the-heck. At least the store brand is not as pricey as the big-brand name; if I had to pay the ridiculous cost that Neuriva is selling at, I prolly would  not try it.

It is now 1 PM and I have to go get Nannie up. (ugh) The song in my head that I woke up to was written by David Crosby: "I almost cut my hair; it happened just the other day..." so maybe after I have Nannie situated, I may very well go back upstairs and do the trim that I have been contemplating. I don't feel like "letting my freak flag fly". With my hair longer like it is now, it makes my face look long, and dragged down. Just IMHO.

So, up to Nannie's room to get the day going. Will be back later to check in with y'all....

3:40 PM. All trimmed, showered, dried, dressed, and settled in, back on the sofa. Ahhhh!  ?  I pheel beddah nauw ?! Downright PERKY! Well, kinda-sorta, anyway.

My trusty watch-dog is beside me and she just warned me with a growl....there was a CAT outside, peering in through the glass door! GASP!

That trick of turning the ceiling fan on low while the electric fireplace is emitting heat from the top vent is just the thing. It is warm enough in here now, I think I can turn the fireplace down to low....maybe even turn the ceiling fan off!

Nannie isn't really asleep, although she is pretending pretty well; if it weren't for her raising her right eyelid juuuust enough to peep, I might think she was almost asleep.

Funny, but in my notebook-brain, I must've woken up at some point during the night to add something to my list....there is just a scrawl that is covering the last item on the list and is not at all legible. Oh well. I figure if it is important, it will come back to me. If it doesn't, well, I am not going out today, so that's at least 24 hours I have to remember it.

Gonna do the crossword puzzle in The WEEK (my favorite magazine). The other night it took me TWO HOURS to complete it! Maybe it won't be so rigorous today. Just trying to pass the time until I have to think about supper. Maybe an omelet (red or yellow pepper slices, green onion, black olives, a little diced ham...) and some toast, if I still feel up to it when suppertime is here. (This is where you picture me acting like Camille, leaning back, holding the back of my hand against my forehead to show the angst of my statement.)

Anyway, I still keep thinking it is Sunday or Monday. Maybe some brain exercise will help bring me back to the current day of the week.

Another overcast, shower-y day, in the 40s. The dogs have been restless so I finally got them out for a walk, sort of. The older dog seems to understand that we should walk at a brisk pace, with occasional stops to sniff. The little one stops, stares, sits, tries to go the opposite way and wraps me up in the leash. A lot of time is spent coaxing, untangling, and occaisionally just scooping her up and carrying her for a while. We didn't get as far as I would have hoped.

We finally took the Christmas tree down. I found the missing attachment to the vacuum so I was able to give a good thorough cleaning to the living room. Dh and I went to Costco to get his prescription, a few food items and a delicious hot dog. Those things are like crack to me. We got some frozen pad thai for dinner. currently we are watching the local news and election results from New Hampshire. I will play on line trivia at 7. We won last week, but the special category tonight is post-apocholyptic (sp?) movies. I hope youngest ds gets home in time to play that category.

J22, I would need Hubs for that category of trivia.

The freezing rain Sunday night made for a slick morning yesterday. The hospital is kind of in a hole: everything slopes down toward it. That didn't help. This being Oklahoma, no one was out spreading salt and sand at 4 am. There were 2 accidents in the parking lot (both single vehicle accidents and both employees).

Above freezing now but wet, foggy.

Stars, I'm not brave enough to trim my hair myself, but it needs it badly. I feel the same about the longer hair dragging my face down.

Got a call from the veterinary office that the doctor wants a followup appt for Darby after seeing her lab results and might want to do an abdominal ultrasound. When I talked to them they said her heart was the biggest problem but the ultrasound would be to check her spleen. I don't know about doing and paying for an ultrasound. I sure can't see Hubs being willing to spend money to treat any major illness.

The clerk that works M-F nights 11-7 has an injury that will keep her out for a few weeks so Twin B is going to be working a lot. He's a little anxious about that.
