Good morning!
Joe hope you have a good day. I don't have school dreams anymore but still occasionally have those work dreams where I'm overwhelmed not getting stuff done.
Stars, that's disappointing they didn't arrange to stay the night with Nannie or at least hire an agency sitter using her money. Hope it went well and that your follow up appointment goes well. Best friend only had to wear that shield at night. But he did choose to leave it on the day of the surgery.
Waffle Cone (LOL) seems comfortable and I didn't give her a pain pill yet today. She's still asleep on her freshly laundered comforter. Another follow up appointment is tomorrow. Hopefully it will show she's healing but I'm not hopeful they will allow the cone to come off just yet.
Sameo sameo here. It's "mop the floor Tuesday" and I skipped last Tuesday for some reason and it really needs to be done.
I actually got a good solid 4+1/2 hours of sleep last night, so I do feel better. I still looked like The Wreck of the Hesperus this morning at 7 AM, but the eye IS better today, vision is a bit cleared ie less cloudy/blurry. I am going to wear my eye-guard for this week during the day as well as at night because I am habitual eye-rubber, but I need the eye-guard as my real prophylactic (Hahahahaha!) Anyway, follow-up appt went well and I go back in a month for another follow-up. And then the eye doc wants to do the left eye, too. w00t.
The tech at the eye doc's office resembled the guy who played "Joey" on FRIENDS, except with darker hair and a well-trimmed beard. I had to bite my lip to keep from saying, "How're YOU doin'?" I'm sure he hears about the resemblance to Joey ALL the time, anyway, so I was pleased by my restraint. When I was younger and wore my dark brown hair long, people used to say I looked "just like" ....whoever had long brown hair with long bangs; so many singers and actresses, and I actually did NOT look like any of them, except for the similar hair-style.
Nannie was up in the recliner chair in the dark den when I went downstairs to unlock the door before it got light outside and I then opened the drapes. SiL says when she comes in and sees Nannie sitting there in the dark, it always startles her. Of course she can't tell Nannie is up like I can.....I always place the remote control on the seat with the lit-up lights facing UP. So if I am going into the kitchen I can look down into the den, and if there are no lights showing on the chair, that indicates that the remote has been moved or she is sitting on it. (She does not know how to use it).
I wonder if I will nap today? I'd LIKE to, but, like yesterday, when I hovered in the place between being awake and being asleep, as tired as I was, I could not drop off to sleep completely. 0h well, water under the bridge at this point.
CG comes this afternoon while SiL is at work, first 'doing hair', and then at ABC store counting bottles of booze. Then SiL will come over after work and get Nannie ready for bed. Not sure where that leaves suppertime, but NOT MY PROBLEM today! ("I like it, I love it, I want some more of it.")
So, I guess I'll close my eyes and see if I can doze, cat-nap, or sleep....
Huh! Whaddya know! SiL took Nannie out with her while she went to get her dog and take it to the groomers; then they stopped at WAYFARE (diner) and picked up some to-go plates. Now, I hardly ever eat this early in the day (11:30AM), but getting up early two days in a row made me get hungry earlier. I had been thinking of going down and popping two frozen waffles (!) into the toaster, but before I got up, SiL had come back and she hollered up to me "Do you want something to eat?" and then she brought up a 'go-box' heaped full of steaming HOT food. It was chopped steak with rice and gravy, green beans, and mashed sweet potatoes with pecans and raisins in it. And, of course the dinky, little, puffy, white-roll that all those kinds of places ( good reliable Greasy Spoon ) serve with a meal.
So that solves the supper problem, because 1.) it is a hot meal, 2.) there's a lot of it, and 3.) neither Nannie nor I can finish the entire meal. So we can eat leftovers or make sandwiches on 'real' bread with the leftover chopped steak (why they can't just call it hamburger meat in gravy, I do not know. I suppose "chopped steak" sounds a little classier.) So, anyway, one less thing to think about.
I got a text notice from the pharmacy that I have two refills ready, at the cost of $0.00. I might could go out to WalMart tomorrow while Nannie is at daycare. I b'lieve I am good enough to drive there. I can pick up those EXPENSIVE prescriptions, and also get more cran-apple for Nannie, and s'more dog food (salmon and/or lamb) for my sweet baby Tinker-girl.
There was something else I was going to write, but naturally it has slipped my mind for the moment. I'll come by later and maybe will have recalled it by then. Meanwhile, now that my belly is full, if I close my eyes, MAYBE I can do a little respite-nap. We'll see!
Hello all!
No Stars, glad the recovery phase is going well, and the iL's are stepping up to help out (though, I understand, not at night). Scritches to little Tinker.
Tweety, your day does sound exciting (LOL)! and kind of like my day!
Joe, I hope your gifts arrive soon, so you can start wrapping them. You are very organized!
Today we will meet oldest ds for lunch and hand over a gift (a hand-me-down) that dh has been wanting to give him. And, it should be close to 80 degrees today!!
Have a good day!

Tweety that could be sedation, or irritation at having to wear the cone
Dianah I find as I get older that I handle humidity less well
Stars I'm glad the surgery went well
Ado happy birthday to the twins
Work was pretty good in terms of workload. Not that much to do but stayed busy enough the whole day. Nothing unexpected, no new cases, no one to cover for
Which was good because I was down most of the day. If we meet our metrics on audit twice in a row we get to leave early on a Friday. My last audit, was perfect, but this one fell short of the metrics by half a percent. No big deal, but it did get me down for much of the day. Sometimes it seems so hard at this job to do everything right, especially given that standards seem to shift a lot
Felt better by the end of the day. Exercised and finished the last of the Christmas cards
Had an unusually vivid dream last night about a long test I was struggling to complete in time. Left me a bit down this morning, but hopefully that feeling will lift. Should be an ordinary day, nothing unusual at work
After work will be busy, have to stop at the pet store and post office in addition to the grocery stores. Once the Christmas cards are sent will have to start wrapping gifts, something which will take time as I'm not good at it
Will be a bit warmer today, in the mid 30s, might get some more snow this evening
