Tweety I sometimes get those unexpected bursts of anxiety, not sure how or why
Stars hope you hear back from the daycare soon
NJ22 glad the new glasses are a lot better
Work was nice and quiet yesterday, no new cases, nothing unexpected, and no one who needed help. Which was good as I was a bit tired and down most of the day. Maybe it was the weather or the busyness of the last few weeks. Rest of the day was quiet too, just exercised and worked on my shopping list
Today should be pretty ordinary too, usual grocery shopping after work
Going to be slightly warmer today, around 30, no snow expected until tomorrow

My mother (an RN for 50 years) always said that if people stayed home when they were sick ...instead of going to school or work....there would be far fewer shared illnesses. She kept me out of school when I was sick....and I did get everything coming down the pike when I was young....I'm sure someone at the school spoke to her about my (at times) spotty attendance, and I know my school'mates' gave me a lot of grief about it. The interesting thing is that since I have become older, I don't get colds, flu, or anything else that can be contagious. Wonder if all those illnesses actually boosted my immune system?
I lived in Cambridge, Mass. after I graduated after high school. It was the first time I was aware of essentially being invisible and I absolutely LOVED IT! After being 'picked on' so frequently when I was young, I just adored being ignored.
Now, when hubby was alive he could be counted on for making "those" phone calls to express .his displeasure about something.....well, he'd say why he was calling, and after the first person gave him an unsatisfactory comment or suggestion, he would say, "I would like to talk to whomever is directly responsible for firing YOU." And up the line he would go. He actually got to the president of CVS, and what he was calling about was actually resolved by that top person with no grief AND with apologies!

When they later called me that the driver had returned the door I didn't want, (step one in the process of me getting the correct door) and I talked to the guy I said "well, it sounds like it was an honest mistake was made and it's going to be fixed". G glared at me and said "that's not what I would have said. He started the conversation originally earlier with "I'm a disgruntled customer"...something I would never say, so I'm glad he called and got them to understand. LOL
When the insurance adjuster called me last night and said "your damage costs we calculated are below your deductible and thus we will not be giving you a payout". I thanked him.
What's wrong with me?
I'm usually invisible in lines so people jump in front of me all the time and I don't say anything because I'm usually flabbergasted at their gall. But what also happens is the server will ignore me and wait on someone who just walked up when clearly I was there first. G didn't believe me until we started traveling and he saw it unfold a couple of times.
Bumped into a wife of a former patient at the gym that recognized me and asked "are the illegals taking over the hospital?". I said "what on earth are you talking about?". She gave some conspiracy theory and was completely serious. I assured her that was not the case. She said "I've been told not to go to that hospital". Please don't.
