It's a good hospital. I've heard good things about it.
About the city, housing and cost of living is relatively low. $500-$800/month rent for a decent place. If you search carefully you can even get a nice apartment for $400. Be prepared for heat and storms. Right now it's about 100F everyday, but you won't feel it except for going from car to building. At the end of summer is monsoon season where there are afternoon thunderstorms which can cause occasional flooding. Those storms are fun to watch. Tucson has some of the best gas prices in the country as well.
