Trying to Land my Feet in Bon Secours Hosp, How? Help

Published

I just moved from FL last month and I'm a new grad from there. I'm also waiting for my ATT to come in mail so I could make an appointment to test here in VA. In the meantime I would like to get a GN job somewhere here, but everywhere I look so far all they need is experience and a license. It's very discouraging. I'm new at this, really new at this game, so please could anyone guide me or give me some advice on what to do? I've looked into Bon Secours job listings and they do have a new grad position posted there, but I'm not sure if that even valid or something I should persued. Please help anyone?

Yes, pursue the New Grad listing at BS, I think they do formal GN orientations in January, June, August. I will tell you that the Richmond system seems more responsive than Hampton Roads (Portsmouth, Newport News). The Richmond # is 804-627-5162.

It is a valid position, but I warn you that Bon Secours has a long waiting list for new grads spots, especially the Hampton Roads side.

I am so glad I saw ur message. I am trying to land a job at Bon Secours too, but it is taking forever to hear from them, I am starting to get a little frastruated. I am a new grad, already passed my boards. I did an initial phone interview with a recruiter a while a go and i was so excited. Then i got an e-mail telling me to wait, its been a long time since. I wish they would tell me something - my family is beginning to wonder when i'll ever move out!. Has anybody ever gone through this experience with Bon secours?

Yes, I've gotten as far as you have, and I'm still waiting to hear back from them...though it doesn't really matter anymore as I've taken a job elsewhere ;)

wow, congratulations. I wish I knew then what I know now, I would have interviewed elsewhere too. I really hope I get an interview soon and find out if I have a job or not ... I can just see myself ending up in a nursing home- all the other hospitals in richmond seem not to be hiring now
