traveling with a spousetraveling with a spouse

My husband and I are thinking of traveling soon but we are at a loss when we think about what he'll do for work he currently works for our city transit system and makes great money but we feel the opportunity is too great to pass up. Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions on good travel jobs for spouses? Thanks!

Hi. I am also currently traveling with my boyfriend. He found work within a week at a motorcycle shop. That did not work out, so he is just waiting until our next assignment to work again. I know personally, taking the stipend I have enough money to pay both of our bills. Craigslist is a great place to go to find jobs. Good luck!

Some spouses are full time support for their travelers. They can locate and secure housing, locate and negotiate contracts, explore areas to search out fun things to do, prepare meals, chauffeur working traveler to job and so on. Finding work depends on skills and initiative, but there are usually throwaway jobs like restaurants or Manpower if it is too boring not to work.

Some spouses stay at home - long distance relationships with visits. Long weekends are a lot nicer if you have a spouse familiar with a city and you don't have to stay in a hotel!
