Traveling Correctional nurse?

:kiss I've been working in the correctional field for over 15 years (agency). Recently the prisons in this area have become privatized and rarely call for agency. I'd love to take a travel position but all I find are for hospital nurses. It's a little late in the game for me to change my specialty. Does anyone work for or know of a travel agency that is looking for correctional nurses? (prison,jail or juvenile facilities)I'm not the only one in this boat. hi all i too have been in correction for a long time (20years).. i am to the point where i would like to travel corrections.. have been oput of a hospital for too many years to look into hospital travel nursing.. i work for the state of florida and i think i have a lot to offer from my corrections knowledge.. i have enjoyed being a corrections nurse here.. i have put out feelers but to no avail so far..

Just curious . I have never done correction nursing. What exactly is the work like?

corrections nursing is like a multi nursing levels.. it can be like a clinic for sick call,, can be like an emergency room,, like an infirmary, of course pill line, we do intake and chart reviews,, it is like on the questions of what specialty is done that is hard to say as we can and do hit on them all..i have heard the question ""are you scared in there??' i say know because i know all of them in there have done bad out side you dont know what is coming in the door.. i hope this has helped some..
