travel vs. seasonal job

I'm considering traveling this winter, I want to go somewhere warm (I live in upstate NY). I was wondering if it would be better to go with a travel company, or work directly with the hospital as a seasonal employee. What would be the drawbacks/beneifts of going with one vs the other?

Seasonal contracts can be hard to come by. Depending on where you wish to go. I had an offer extended to me a couple years ago by the CNO of a hospital I had worked for in the past, but when it came down to it I was able to get more money, better benifits and things through a travel company. You may be luckier. It never hurts to ask.

Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, FL does seasonal contracts. I was there as a traveler-have no idea of pay/benefits, etc. as a seasonal employee. Magnet Facility-nice hospital.......

There are many facilities that offer seasonal contracts, especially during the winter months whent they have an increase in the patient numbers.

Several in AZ do the same thing as well, one in particular that comes to mind is Yuma Regional.

St. Joseph Hospital in Tucson also does Seasonal 3 or 6 or 9 month Seasonal Contracts and they do it year round anytime you want to start. I work there as a 9 month Seasonal Employee. I like it very much. The pay is decent and it is a pretty good hospital. We need more nurses right now on Med/Surg and our Director spoke with me the other day in this regard and I just referred a nurse to her that is a traveler who is interviewing now! Come October or Novemeber there will be many more openings than there already are.

Need more info or contact information or have questions let me know and I will tell you how things work for me as a Seasonal Employee at this facility.

Thanks
