Travel to NY from west coast with pets!

Okay- so I got my assignment. I'm currently in Oregon and will be starting in Brooklyn, NY in early-mid Feb. Problem: I have a 16 lb dog and 2 cats. Question: What do you think is my best option of getting to NY with my furkids? Normally, I'd have no hesitation to just drive but seems like the weather through some of the states we'd (my friend agreed to accompany me, sweet girl) be driving through would be experiencing crazy snow weather.

What do you all think??????

I have 2 cats I travel with all over the country. THey do very well in their carriers. I usually let them out in the bathroom of the hotel I will be staying at that night first to do their business. I find that Daphne usually gets a little too wise about the routine though. She has held me up a couple times in the hotel for a little longer then I would like in the morning. Both kitties settle right down after a few minutes on the road.
