Im looking for as many travel nurses opinions as possible!

Im a student with a couple years left and and a couple more years of experience to get before I start traveling. (which is my ultimate dream) My boyfriend of two years and I are seriously thinking about selling the house when the time comes and buying a large 5th wheel to live in while I travel for a few years. I know we can live this way because we were lucky enough to be able to travel the entire western half of the country in an 18 ft tow camper for the 3 months over summer vacation. We absolutely loved it and cant wait to make it a lifestyle.

Herein lies the problem.....I am 29 and will have no problem in the career department. Im going to have my BSN and hopefully my pick of jobs. BUT my future husband has no idea what he wants to do careerwise. He currently works as a delivery driver for a local business and his only wish in life is to be a musician. He's not interested in going back to school even though he only has a years worth of credits left to get, unless of course he found a career he was interested in. He's a year younger than me and it took me a long time to find a career I wanted so Im trying to understand and be patient.

My question to you is this, other than a nursing job, are there other jobs out there that allow travel? What do your husbands or wives do for work when you are both traveling and you are on assignment? Or will he just not fit into my planned lifestyle?

Most of the travelers I know who do travel with spouse either have a spouse who is retired, works from home via computer, is a homeschooling/househusband, or is another travel nurse. This is the first assignment I have had where my husband came with me. Usually I find a job close enough to home to commute part time. I have found most places are schedule friendly and I have been able to work 6 on 8 off....or 3 on, 4 off, etc.

delivery jobs should be available country wide..and you may be able to accept assignments in areas where he would have the opportunity delve into music as a career

whether or not he is going to be a permanent part of your life is something only you can determine

Sorry It was missing one letter :)

My hubby fits into the househubby category. Some of the other travelers I know have hubby's that work at nationwide places, like grocery stores/fast food, and a few who's hubby's are truck drivers.

Hope this helps!
