Travel nursing pay, is it worth it?

Published

I’m thinking about accepting a travel assignment with AYA. The total gross weekly pay is $1618.00. The average taxable hourly rate is $15.00. It is 48 hours. Does that mean I’m taking a major pay cut? 48x15.00=720.00. So if I’m correct that will only leave me with $898.00 weekly. Can anyone  help me figure this out before I take the assignment.

I need to edit my comment about AYA. they were very helpful and switched me to another recruiter, I received an extension offer I refused, my recruiter then told me my contract was cancelled and left me high and dry on my pay still. it wasn't until I called the california department of labor on them that I began to receive my overdue pay

Sorry this happened to you - pretty backhanded behavior by the facility. Not an uncommon story for this agency either for lack of support (although details vary). And some hospitals have a reputation for not honoring contracts - a good recruiter will steer you away or at least warn you about such facilities.
