I have some questions, I'm researching travel nursing agency work experience expectations. I'm returning this Summer to complete my RN and gain med surg. experience. I'm an LPN w/ 3 yrs experience mostly in LTC/Rehab. I am a good, conscientious, hardworking nurse. I have heard that the agencies/hospitals expect you to hit the ground running. I'm not the fastest learner nor the slowest, I'm in the middle. I enjoy new challenges, don't like the same old routine. I enjoy a fast pace up to a point that I can manage.
Please advise me on what to expect, in terms of employer expectations, pt. to nurse rations's, work loads etc. Thank You!

Workload is going to be the same as the expectations on regular staff, you just won't get the same level of orientation. Fast adaptation is a requirement (hit the ground running) and you are not expected to be "learning" on an assignment but to have complete command of your specialty.
