Travel nursing in DC

I would like to travel to DC, but have a few questions that I hope someone can answer. My goal is to make the most amount of money in the least amount of time. What pay rate can I expect in DC. I won't need housing or transportation. Will they allow me to work as many hours as I would like? My goal would be to work 5 12-hour shifts a week during my contract. Does this sound reasonable? What agencies are the best in the area? I would appreciate any help...there is just too much confusing info out there. Thanks!

The most amount of money in the least amount of time......would not be a job in DC. NYC or Philadelphia maybe, but not DC.

Strike breaking usually earns the highest money, if that is how you want to earn a living. I don't strike break, so could give very little info.

If 5 12's is what you want, then the suggestion for strike break Nursing is accurate. Even then, you are not guaranteed the hours but probably will get it. There is a reason the Nurses are on strike; it is usually for poor and dangerous working conditions.

If you need the 5 12's, facilites are reluctant to pay it because of the overtime. If it is NOT written in your contract, you probably will NOT get it. So... get it in writing if that is mandatory for you.

Let us know how you make out.
