Travel Nursing in Boston

Hi there,

I'm looking to get a travel nursing assignment in the med/surg field at MGH come early June for the summer. Completely open to other Boston hospitals but MGH is #1.

I am using American Traveler as a recruiting source but wondering if anyone had any connections that I may be able to leverage?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Does American Traveler have a contract with MGH? If no, you do need to find an agency or two that does. I suspect they have a vendor manager which can mean many agencies will be able to place you there. I don't actually know of an agency that does staff MGH, but Sagent is strong in the area or was. Cross Country Travcorp should be too. Travcorp was the first ever travel nurse company and was based in the Boston area.

Lots of other great hospitals in Boston.

Specializes in ER.

I'm pretty sure AMN has the vendor for that hospital. Which is unfortunate bc they are a terrible company. I worked with Onward at MGH. Onward is now a part of AMN & had a really bad experience with that company. Other agencies not affiliated with AMN may have the assignment too, not sure. I did ER at MGH this past July-Sept

AMN the agency may be very different that AMN Healthcare the vendor manager. If MGH has a contract for vendor management with AMN, there will be a lot of different agencies to choose from.

Can I ask you how you liked your ER contract at MGH? I am in the process of submitting a contract there and I am desperately seeking some info- did you enjoy it? Was the staff friendly/easy to work with? Do you mind private messaging me a bit about your experience? I am getting nervous about potentially going there- I feel like I have heard mixed things! Thanks in advance.
