I am currently in the process of immigrating to the US from the UK to travel nurse. I am being sponsored by Innovative Placements, has anybody heard of them or have any opinions on them?
Also, as I am obviously new to all this I have a feeling that several people may take advantage of the fact that I don't have much knowledge of travel nursing etc. Could anybody offer me any advice on what I should be looking at with regards to hourly pay and what the standard benefits offered should be.
Thanks
Kate

I have moved this to the International Forum. I see from your other post, you are interested in Canada. Good Luck and let us know how you are doing. I hope you get the info you need.

My first repsonse to that: Don't do it. Things are very, very different in the US from the UK. Even different phrases are used. Example BM for you means blood sugar, for us it is the same as poop, or bowel movement.
With travel nurse postiions, you do not get any type of oritentation to the facility, perhaps only a day or two to learn the computer system.
Until you have already worked in the US and have experience working here, do not even consider a travel position. You are definitely getting taken advantage of.
Please check out some of the posts of the UK nurses on the UK forum about working in the US and you will see what I am talking about.
