Travel Companies to Reccomend?

Hello all! I am wondering if anyone has ever worked for Readylink? Also, I looked over past forums, and can't find mention of any names of companies to go with or avoid. Would love if everyone chipped in what good and bad companies they have delt with:) TY

Specializes in ICU's,TELE,MED- SURG.

I know the TNS people. They have good assignments with good pay but I tend to travel out and want a co. car. They don't pay for car insurance.

Has anyone worked with nightingale? or Aureus? OR Travelmed?

just curious what your experiences have been. A long time ago...(in a star system far far away...heheheh) I traveled with Preferred Health. I think they were out of Orlando....they were very good...took good care of me...etc. I wouldn't recommend American Mobile....they lied about alot of things to me, and could't keep their stories straight...so I withdrew from contracting with them.

I have talked with Readylink numerous times that they have called me. They have no housing and use Tax Advantage to show you what you can be making. It scares me off every time.

Hey, lots of great info on companies in here.

I'm looking to take my first travel assignment.

So far, Novapro has been the most helpful with what I consider great pay for the area. I'm doing a "local travel" assignment first so I'll just be getting my feet wet, and getting the housing stipend.

RNNetwork has contacted me, the recruiter was decent but kept trying to send me to point Z when I asked for point A. ??? :uhoh3:

NursesRX - just seemed wierd all around. Kept getting my file mixed up so I said No thank you.

Trustaff. Anyone have details on this company? Great recruiter, worked hard to find what I wanted and where. But, the Tax Adv Plan just doesn't cut it for me (although I do see the advantages, I am looking to build a house early next yr, need a strong W2). Also, there was a weekly deduct for "expenses" so the hrly pay lost its appeal.

Anything I should know about Novapro? I should start my assignment in 2 weeks.

I have worked with Liquid Agents and INA. I have had no issues with either. My recruiter at INA was even good to go to bat for me on an issue at an assignment when he saw the Manager of the unit I was assigned to was acting a fool and she had to be kind of put in her place. (She had never used traveling nurses before and was quite the little Hitler). I think anyone would do go by using these companies for their traveling assignments.

My first and only travel agency was HealthProviders Choice, headquartered out of Minnesota. I was paid well, got the tax thing, had a nice apartment (in a bad area) but made alot of friends there. Being the first travel assignment and being away from my son was hard, but my job was great, pay was great, and apartment was great. Everything was furnished!!! I had to pay electric and cable, something most companies provide. The only thing bad was the recruiter messed up, she was let go. I drove 2,000 miles to find out she had failed to drug test me prior to starting my job, she told me that my last drug test was sufficient. I had to sit in an ER department for over 3 hours to be told that they don't drug test. This pushed my start date back 2 weeks (orientation held every 2 weeks). This caused me alot of worry and stress. They tried to make me work PRN for other hospitals after telling me they would pay me for their mistake. The 2nd recruiter I had during this time failed to renegotiate my contract, I would have stayed another 13 weeks. The nurse manager came to me and asked why I didn't want to renew. I called recruiter and only had 2 weeks left on contract and told him I would love to renew. But it was too late, they had another travel nurse lined up after my contract ended. Was I ever p***ed. So to all new travel nurses, make sure if you like the position you are in you keep in touch with your recruiter so that you can renew your contract if you want. Don't wait to the last minute. I found out this is usually done in the middle of your contract. If you are happy with what you have with your contract keep it and don't complain. I heard several travel nurses talk about all the perks they were getting (none of which I was getting) and it made for hard feelings between me and travel company. Looking back, I was pretty lucky, I had a great position (worked overtime too), a great apartment, and made some great friends. Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

I will be travelling soon for the very first time and I must say slightly nervous. Could anyone recommend agencies to travel with? What exactly do I need to ask for; housing, benefits, car rentals, etc? I am an er nurse and am wondering which travel agency I should go with? Any suggestions would definitely help. Thanks

Does anyone have any experience with Nursefinders and/or Maxim?

I used to work for Maxim, homecare and agency/registry, in Denver. My experience was negative. The recruiters were overworked and underpaid leaving the nurses with poor assignments and disorganization. Seemed to be run by a coorperation who cared more about the almighty buck than the livelihood of their employees, nurses included.

I went to a new hospital at the time and date I was told by the recruiter for orientation, and it turned out to be the wrong time and date. The hospital's HR said something like, "Oh that guy at Maxim! At it again!"

They pulled aside all of their nurses and explained that business was down, therefore no bonuses for the office, therefore everyone's hourly pay was being decreased....significantly.

I did a travel assignment in Seattle through Axis Medical Staffing. My recruiter was great, very attentive and helped me get everything I wanted. I'm starting another through them in June and can't wait! Excellent housing, pay, and benefits.

I have used Aureus in the past. Finding an assignment was torture! every "area" has a different recruiter and you never have one specific contact person until you make a discision on a contract. Fine for the hospital...they always know who to ask for when they pick up the phone. I switched to an agency where I always work with the same person and I am much happier.

Also something to consider...Aureus will only submit you to one hospital at a time for consideration. Really slowed down the process for me, as well. I much prefer the ball to be in my court, if you know what I mean.

With my new agency, I feel more like they are trying to make me happy, not just the facility.
