Hey everyone!
I've done my research and can tell that memorial hermann, and ben taub are the two level I's in the Houston area.............
Anyone that lives in the area, or works at either one, can you please give me the details on each, i.e. what is different about each ER? what each hospital's ER reputations are like in the community? etc.
Which hospital has a bigger diverse trauma population? Which is more respected for their trauma care?
( So far when I read this site and another one, I read that taub pretty much only cares for homeless people..........) Caring for the homeless in a metro ER is a way of life, is there really that much more at taub?
Thanks in advance

I do clinicals at Hermann, but I haven't been in the ER yet. I hear Ben Taub trauma nurses get paid about 50/hr and they get the worst of the worst [injuries] there.

Hi,
Ben Taub usually gets the shooting and stabbing victims, while Hermann gets the Life Flights and MVAs. Each gets everything, but the majority of those go the different hospitals. My experience is only Ben Taub and there is never a dull moment.
