I am considering Excelsior for my LPN to RN to avoid a year wait to start the bridge program. I am wondering what classes are accepted for the non-nursing 31 credit hours. Obviously the A&P and Micros are accepted but what types of humanities etc are used. I have my LPN and we needed to take nutrition, growth and development etc. but most of them were 1 credits?
How did you fill in the 31 credit non-nursing gaps....what did you CLEP? What other credits were accepted for humanities etc....

I had a generic AAS degree from years ago, my LPN credits, and a few misc upper level college credits. I submitted transcripts from 4 colleges to Excelsior and they took all my credits except for LPN content, which they don't count for anything anyway. If you don't have one, ask for or download a catalog and some info about the spec program requirements from EC. They havew a worksheet where you can compare what you have to what they require and see what you might need to fill thier GURs. Of course, you won't know for sure until you get an undergrad Official Eval.
Thank you for responding

Just make sure that the A&P had enough credits. Mine didn't and I had to retake it.
They can do an official transcript review for you. It used to be $50 (don't know what it is now) which they applied towards your enrollment once you enrolled. It takes a few weeks but it can tell you exactly what'll transfer.
I took the sociology CLEP. It was a breeze. I got a Cliff's Notes book on sociology and studied from that.
That's for the tip. When you CLEP'd the sociology did you get credits or just exempt from the course?
