Hey everyone. :) I'm applying to schools for the fall and I had a question about sending off transcripts. On my transcript request form it asks if i want to hold my transcript until the grades for this current semester are posted and ready or if i want to send my current transcripts which include all of my course work up to last semester. I figured they would want a transcript with all my pre-req grades on it, but that will only be available at the end of this semester..however the application deadline is before these grades will be complete... so i'm left to wonder how does that work.. part of me just wants to say hold off sending the transcripts until every pre-req needed will be on them, but i have to be able to get into the university too.. so... ahhh confused.. i'm sure i've worded this in a confusing manner too lol hopefully not. any thoughts or suggestions would be wonderful. i feel bad emailing the poor advisor all the time lol he's probably sick of hearing from me by now. thanks so much. :)

Check with the programs for which you are applying. Some programs require courses to be completed before the application deadline. That would mean you would not be eligible to apply for the fall session. Some programs will offer a conditional acceptance pending final grades of the courses you are taking. If you are applying to programs that offer a conditional acceptance, I would send off the transcripts to meet the deadline. After the courses are completed, I would forward an updated transcript to the school.
I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

I would send your transcrpits now bc they will still show the classes that you are currently taking now (coorifices in progress) so they will know you are finishing up those classes. Then at the end of the semester when you complete your classes this semester, just send a updated transcript. Thats what I did, with no problem.
Awesome thanks guys for the reply :) i feel alot better about sending them now :)

Remember also, that if you send transcripts now that say courses are IP (in progress), you will be required to send a final transcript later with the grades earned in those courses. This is what happened with a couple of my applications, they needed final transcripts without "IP" on them. Fortunately, it did not affect me in terms of deadlines. You can always order them now with "hold until final grade is posted" and they will be sent automatically in May/June, whenever your term ends. Nice thing to do so it won't slip your mind later.

I'm with ParkerBeanCurd - I would confirm with the school you're interested in that it's ok to have courses in progress. With my school, only certain classes can be in progress the semester a student applies.
