Hello everyone! I've been having a little trouble and would love some feedback. I just graduated in December from an LPN-RN program and I was supposed to be starting nursing orientation on January 12th. However, I just found out from my school that my transcripts have not been sent to the BON yet because I did not put in a request for them to be sent. When I graduated from my LPN program, the school automatically sent our transcripts to the BON. All we had to do was fill out our application for licensure and wait to receive the ATT. So basically I've been sitting around since mid-December completely wasting time and now I won't be able to start my job until all this is sorted out. So here is my question... How did your school handle this? Is is usually the student's responsibility to put in a request to send transcripts? Maybe my LPN school just spoiled us by doing it, so I assumed that was how it was always done. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks! :)

All programs that I have heard of locally do this entire process as a group for their students. If your school requires you to do more of the process yourself, they should have informed everyone.
That's what I thought too. At first I thought that maybe I just missed the announcement, but I've called a couple people that graduated with me and they didn't know about it either. I don't think the BON would want to get separate transcripts from each individual student. It would make alot more work for them. Thank you for your response!

That's crazy. My school, had all the graduating seniors fill out a form that was just for the information that they send to the board. They even made a point out of telling us to be sure all of our information is correct and the proper spelling of our name was vital because it would have to match with our application to take the boards. Your school should automatically be emailing your affadavit of completion to the state board. If you are applying for licensure in another state, then you are responsible for have the director of nursing fill out the paperwork that goes along with the application for that state's board.

hello,
i'm really sorry to hear that your school didn't explain who would be responsible for sending your transcripts... over at the college i attended it was the students' responsibility to order their transcripts and forward it to the board of nursing. it is a relatively simple process just head to you admission and records to fill out the paperwork and pay a couple of bucks. i believe there is also an option to expedite the service.
hope this info helps...
