Congratulations on your offers. I don't know how much luck you'll have asking here. Also it could be very biased. Someone's personal opinion can deter you from a place that perhaps it's a perfect fit for you. Weight your options in both hospitals. To me the most important thing is the hospital's culture. From what I read about both places I'd personally choose memorial if the offer is at one of their magnet facilities. Now, if your offer is for trauma I would def choose Jackson.
But it all depends on what your goals are. If you're set and made up your mind about the path you want to pursue, then choose the one that makes more sense as far as career advancement. If not, then based your options in the usual, distance from home and pay scale. I know it sounds bad, but all you need is that first year under your belt. Good luck! It's good you have options to choose from. A good problem to have I guess 🙂

Thank you! I turned my resume into a full portfolio. I included a cover page with a professional photo of myself, my diploma, awards, and my stroke certification also references from my clinical instructors. I also stayed in contact with the director of the floor where I did my clinical rotation building that relationship really helped me get in, so that's why it's good to be a good student on the floor you want sometimes because it pays off.
I don't have my BSN yet, so the pay was the same across the board. One offer was slightly higher due to the night shift differential, but I personally prefer working day shifts.

Thank you! I'm in my final semester and my leadership clinical is at one of the hospitals you mentioned which is my dream hospital so I'm definitely taking your advice. It's so refreshing to hear you're a new grad with 2 great offers! I wish you the best!
Congratulations, new grad! Nursing school is not a breeze. I am a retired nurse of 23 years at Joe DiMaggio. Personally, if I had to do it all over again, I would make the same decision. I don't know about the culture at Jackson so I cannot say if it's a better employer than Memorial. Now, I can say that my husband was a patient at Jackson and NEVER again! Patient care is not the best. When you witness your loved one with a O2 saturation in the 50s and nobody is rushing in, there's a problem. So many wrongs at this hospital. Memorial has a great culture. Sure, you might have a tough time adjusting being a new grad but, if you have a good mentor, it will help with the transition into your new role. Memorial has many mandatory inservices and modules to complete yearly. It might be annoying, but frankly other hospitals might have the same requirements. If you like working with Children, JDCH is a great place to be. Most nurses are super nice and helpful. Whichever one you choose, I hope you thrive and have a wonderful career. Good luck!

Hi everyone,
I'm a new grad RN and just got two offers.both are full-time residency positions on the same unit and I'm genuinely torn between the two. I'd love to hear from any current or past nurses who have worked at either hospital or know about their residency experiences.- Jackson vs Memorial(SFL)
