Hello,
I am a 15-month accelerated BSN student and am currently taking a class titled Professional Nursing. I have a 6-page paper due for this class in a few weeks. I just need some help brainstorming possible topics for my paper.
This is the assignment description for the paper:
Select an ethical, legal, economic, social or political issue you think is interesting and important to the profession and to you as a new professional.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you!

The emphasis on quantity vs. quality of life in American society today.
Sorry, just had a patient the other night who was a&o x 0, contracted, tube feeder, bed ridden, 96 years old, admitted for new CVA and new onset seizures, and a full code. And we get 'em like that all the damn time.

use of restraints, travelling internationally for procedures, birth control methods/laws, nurse-to-nurse hostility (as heard it called horizontal hostility), new grad retention, informed consent, confidentiality (there's a lot of current news reports), license renewal/reinstatement/petition, shift length?
any of those appeal? good luck! :)

What do YOU find interesting?
1. Start your topic selection by making a list of those topics that interest you personally. Don't make the mistake of choosing a topic because other people find it interesting.
2. Spend a little time browsing the literature (either in person at the library or online)
3. Identify which topics that interest you are discussed adequately in the literature. You need to pick a topic for which you will be able to find adequate resources for your paper.
4. As you browse the literature and think about the possible topics that interest you, one or two topics will start to stand out as being both interesting and feasible. Pick one of those.
