Took NCLEX-RN today, someone please tell me you felt this way...

Nursing Students NCLEX

So, I took it today, and I am pretty convinced that I failed. I know everyone thinks they failed afterward because it is that kind of test, but I really didn't feel confident with any of my answers.

My test turned off somewhere in the 80s. I had absolutely NO dosage calculation questions (I am so jealous of the posters that say they had 10 or more - I would have rocked calculation questions!), lots of meds, lots of choose all that apply.

I could almost always narrow it down to two choices, and then it was either I didn't know what one choice was even talking about, or I didn't have a clue which of the two it was. So, I did a lot of guessing between the two.

If I passed, it means I am a really good guesser, I guess! I actually feel like if I passed, the test is seriously flawed because of how much guessing I did (I mean, even if I DID narrow it down to two, it is STILL a guess!)

If I had had some moments of "aha! I KNOW I got that one right", I wouldn't feel so doomed, but I had absolutely none of that.

Please, someone tell me they felt this same way, and it was all good in the end!!!

Hey Mindy! what you are feeling is perfectly normal and expected! the test doesn't test what you know! otherwise, it wouldn't be NCLEX, right? =) I took mine exactly 3 weeks ago, had only 2 dosages, tons of SATA and prioprity questions! I walked outta there and was so convinced that I failed because I was so nervous, I got some of the "practice" questions wrong (the ones that they make you take so that you can know which buttons to pick on the key board to move on to the next questions, how to get the calculator, remember?!?!:yeah:yeah, that's how nervous I was!) I walked outta and every single questions that i look up, I got wrong! But I passed with ony 75 questions, taken in 1 hr exactly! The next 2 days will be the longest, hardest, most depressing and frustrating days of your life and you will never forget that horrible feeling of waiting for 2 days, but just know that THIS TO WILL PASS! I'm sure that you did fine! go do something nice for yourself! what you are feeling is completely normal and expected!!!! you have made it thru nursing school! and that's the hardest part!

oh yeah, don't try to look up every questions that you remember on the test, it will only make you feel worse! trust me!!!
