took nclex 7-27 anxiety level is high

Published

I just took my nclex exam today and I am wigging out so bad!! I haven't slept well in God knows when and I know I won't sleep at all until I see that I PASSED (I hope). It seems that if you had 75 or 265 questions that you have passed. Well I had 157 questions and I am convinced that I have failed. I believe I got the last question right but I am not sure. Has anyone passed with an odd number of questions. I believe the way they run this test is wrong It makes people like me automatically get discouraged. When I got to question 99 I walked out of the room crying because it went far pass 75. When it cut off at 157 I began to cry again because they could not score my last 60 out of 265. I am a nervous wreck. SOMEONE ANYONE PLEASE HELP! Although I know its not the end of the world, I can test again, this is the most pressure I have ever had on me in my entire life!:chair: (This is how I feel I am going crazy)

One of my students ran out of time and got thru 154, and she passed. You can pass with 75, and you can not pass with 75. You can pass with 265, and not pass with the same number.

Number of questions means absolutely nothing, and getting the final question correct or wrong will not tell you anything.

85% pass the eam the first time, so odds are in your favor. Everyone who leaves the exam is sure that they did not pass, this is quite normal.

Go and do something for yourself the next few days..........there is nothing at all to change the outcome. Getting sick is sure not going to help one way or the other, just make you feel lousy.

If you pass, great. If you do not, you take a few days off and then focus on preparing again.

Good luck with your results.

I felt the same way.... when I took my NCLEX test last Tuesday, I can't sleep the night before. Finally took the test and still couldn't sleep after.. even until now, the anxiety is killing me badly! I had 75 questions and no clue if I pass or not! I remember not even knowing the answers from the last 15 questions! I was a chaos then! Got out of there thinking that i totally screw it up! So i guess we'll just have to wait...

I took my NCLEX-PN on 7/26/06. I think that I finally fell asleep at 4am the day of the test and had to get up by 7:30 to leave the house by 9am. It was a two hour drive to get to the testing facility.

I wasn't too sure of my preparing in the first place (studied from an outdated question book) and then I had to face the 5 hour test with having only 3 1/2 hours sleep!

Well, the test only took me about two hours and shut off at 85 questions. I knew at 84 that it was going to do that! I did not feel confident at all (no modesty involved) about how I did on the test.

Totally exhausted, I faced the long drive home and tried to think of how I would face my family and my employer...who was anxiously waiting for me to get my license to practice!

The testing service told us that our results would be online 7/27/06 in the afternoon. I kept checking...but nothing. I checked the AllNurses forums to get an idea of how others felt about their test and tried to learn more about this computer assisted testing. What I learned offered me some hope that I may of passed.

Then I decided to check the state website to see if my name was listed as having a license...just for something to do...and low and behold IT WAS! I called my employer to confirm what I thought I was seeing. They called back to say that I did have an active license. I certainly didn't expect to see a turn around that fast! And the testing facility still doesn't have my results posted. I suppose...that when they do...I will waste $7.95 just to see the word "PASSED"! That is how stressed out I was....I'll even throw money away to see it over and over and over....

I thought I'd be happy when my computer shut off at 75, but it hasn't made it any easier. We all think we failed and most of us don't. I'll find out tomorrow......It just doesn't matter how many questions you get.
