Hey guys,
So I wanted to come on here and give some advice to those who are taking ENPC soon, or to those who plan on taking it.
First off, I took TNCC 2 weeks ago and I found it very helpful to have taken the 2 certifications within weeks from one another because ENPC is basically a pediatric version of TNCC.
A lot of people say ENPC is harder and I think that is because so many people are scared of little peds patients, but honestly, it wasn't harder at all. The information was very similar just added pediatric situations and explained the differences between all the different age groups in respect to their vitals, cognitive abilities, and what to expect (neonates, infant, school age, adolescent).
If you can, schedule TNCC and ENPC very close together as it helps build on the information you have already received in TNCC.
The ABCDEFGHI assessment is still the same in kiddos, despite the neonates and infants you have to check the fontanel which obviously you won't see in a grown child or adult. And another difference is the blood glucose check which is standard for peds, but was not really stressed as much in TNCC.
Other than that, watch the videos that ENA provides to you for the assessment practical portion and don't be scared of either TNCC or ENPC, both were awesome and provided me with great information.
If you have taken either TNCC or ENPC please feel free to comment your advice. Additionally, if you plan on taking it please comment any questions you have and ill try my best to answer them.
XO.
