Too old? Help....

You are not too old! I am 38 now and still a sophomore in my BSN program. I believe the age cut off for the Army is still 42 at time of commissioning, though they may not be granting age wavers right now if you are over that age when you get your license.

I am not aware of any programs that the Army has to offer that will help pay for an ADN, (maybe loan repayment?) but once you have your ADN, you can use the STRAP program to get your BSN (you will need a BSN to go active duty, or to get promoted past the rank of Captain in the Army reserves).

You may find that you have more opportunities within the Reserves than in the NG as a nurse, but I would assume that could depend on which State you live in. Even in the Reserves you should be assigned to a unit that is close to your home.

I think the Air Force's cutoff is also 42.

Make sure you have childcare worked out in case of deployment.
