Too old to become a NP?

I am 57 y/o and a ADN RN. I am about to finish my bsn, am I too old to become an APRN? I have raised my family and now I would like to realize this dream I have had for such a long time. But will schools turn me down because of my age. I know they can't legally do that but informally how do they feel about someone my age. This a repeat attempt at this topic as I was not logged in when I started this topic earlier

Of course not!! Age is irrelevant... I would say "keep going". Download applications and curriculums, get your references in order, one step at a time. but start now. I have a doc at my outpt behavioral health site who is 80 and doing fine. Evidently he has retired twice and they talked him into coming back each time..

AS long as you are breathing you are not too old! I was 53 when I got my FNP and I'm going strong.

53, just completed FNP program, soon to be 54...I would say go for it!
