I swear I am going to get DNR tattooed on my chest and NO FEEDING TUBE tattooed over my stomach. My mom and dad just made me their health care power of attorney and I swore no tubes, no machines for them too. It's good to have communication.

Rules for being a loved one of a critically ill pt in the ICU
1. Please do not come into the room and start questioning everything we are doing, even if its in a curious, interested way. We are trying to save your loved ones life, distractions can cause serious mistakes.
2. Please have one family member call for updates, and share the info with everyone else. There is one nurse assigned to your loved one, when he/she is on the phone, she/he is NOT at the bedside.
