TOMS, Vans, Converse?

Any nurses where these types of shoes?

I'm tired of wearing my nikes & want something cute, but I do NOT want to wear clogs...

or anything of the sort.

I'm 24 years old & like skinny pant scrubs so I think TOMS, Vans, or some chucks would look cute.

One of my coworkers, a unit secretary, occasionally wears Converse.

I have not seen a nurse wearing Converse, Vans, Keds, or canvas types of shoes at the workplace. The risk of bodily fluids entering the cloth is too great, and they do not appear to provide the same degree of support as running shoes. Your mileage may vary. Good luck to you!

You can get a decent pair of vans that are more of the wipeable material you would need.

I would advise AGAINST Toms. I love them but they just don't do well wearing them on a concrete floor for hours at a time. When I did NP clinicals at an urgent care for 12 hour shifts I wore Toms the first few shifts because I wore slacks so I needed some nice looking shoes. I wound up wearing tennis shoes and just looking like an idiot...but my feet weren't excruciating afterwards.

I just looked online and they have some leather slip-ons in black or white.....so then they'd go with anything.
