tomorrow i have lvn job interview. do i need to mention about my previous job termination?

pls help

previous job as treatment nurse

it was a harmless miscommunication incident that ultimately resulted in my termination

If you are listing that job on your resume and/or application, you will have to put something down for why you left and you can be expected to be asked about it. This goes especially if the other job was your only one as a licensed nurse. If you do not mention the job at all because you were not there long enough to complete your probationary period, then no, don't bring it up. That is, if you have decided not to breathe a work about it. But you will be running the risk that you will or will not be caught in your lie of omission.

This topic really should be posted elsewhere, like in the career section or first year after licensure section.

having "been there, done that", i can tell you how i handled this situation (keep in mind that everyones situation is different - this may not work for you):

when you are asked about your reasons for leaving, you can simply state "personal reasons". if the interviewer asks you to elaborate, you may have to explain what happened - but do not say anything about "my boss and i didn't get along, so they let me go" - this will raise big red flags. be very tactful and brief about what happened - you're not the first person who was terminated from a job!

i was not asked to elaborate about the "personal reasons", but as a manager now, i can't say if i would or would not ask the person to elaborate. i guess it would depend on the candidate i was interviewing and the number of applicants i had.

good luck with the interview!:anpom:

Don't mention it. If the interviewer asks, answer vaguely and spend the rest of the time explaining what you learned from the experience. Show that you can make the best of any situation.
