To wait or not to wait... (online FNP DNP program advice)

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone with experience with this could give me some advice. I'm looking to get my DNP (FNP route). I would like to get this process going ASAP. However, I'm not sure what the best path to take is. I'm looking at two programs. I have already been accepted into Chamberlain's program to start in July. I have been thinking lately, to maybe hold out and see if I can get into MUSC's spring class...

I applied to MUSC when I was a brand new nurse (maybe two months of experience) and got denied. I'm not sure how much that had to do with it, but I'm sure a lot. (I also wasn't a resident of the state at the time).

SO I'm nervous about putting Chamberlain on the back-burner for something I may not even get into anyway.

My question is.. is the name and reputation behind MUSC more important?

How much weight is held on these programs post graduation?

I'm not worried about what I'll get out of it so much educationally (you get out what you put in), but more about getting a job after.

Also, I'll be able to start Chamberlain soon but it will be a master's and I'll still have to go back for my DNP (but I can do that while making significantly more money, hopefully), and obviously Chamberlain is way cheaper.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi! Just wondering what you ended up doing? Just applied to Chamberlain and am looking for advise/opinions. Thanks!
