Hello. My post is for SRNAs/CRNAs from U of Akron. So I was just granted full admission to the College of Nursing for fall 2012. I understand that I can take the core classes by then and be eligible for interview to the CRNA program itself. So what happens if I took those classes and after interview, they deny me of admission into the CRNA program? When accepted into the Grad School, does it mean there is a good chance that they will accept you into the program? :uhoh3: Thanks.

I just got that same letter and was also confused by it. Any info would be helpful!

Getting accepted in the Graduate school does not mean you will get into the CRNA program. I also received the letter and called to find out the details about the rest of the admission process. They will send out a letter at the end of the month to inform you whether or not you qualified for an interview. The interviews are held in mid October.

Ohiornmom: what semester were you accepted into? I applied for fall 2012 coz i got confused when i applied. I meant i wantrd to start then. I guess i should have applied for fall 2011 so i cam start june 2012 in case i am accepted. When do you intend to start? Are you guys going to the open house next week? I am from california, still undecided if i will go.

Yes if I get accepted into the program I will start in June of 2012. I do not think I am going to the open house but if I'm off work I might consider it.

wohooo!! got an invitation for interview!! excited but freaking out, kinda! No, I did not take any advanced class yet. I was told it will be to your advantage though if you do it. Once accepted into the college of nursing, you may start the grad classes. The actual program does not start until June the following year.

It doesnt mean that you have a higher chance of getting it, it means you can start taking prereqs, which they look very highly upon, If you take these classes they can still deny you admission to the CRNA program at which point you can see if the classes will transfer to another school or change which track you are doing crna-cns-np, and hopefully the classes you have picked will transfer to that track..

for the class of 2017, anyone know what the stats are? How many applicants, how many interviewees and how many spots this year?

Also for those that were granted interviews, are yall from Ohio or anyone from out of state?
