Workload depends on how many credit hours you take, if you're working etc. I am working fulltime and doing NP school part time and I find it time-consuming. There is a lot of information, a lot of papers and assessment, and you really need to keep up with the study. I've always skated by in school with my memory, but I am having to study now.

Hello from a current NP student,

Well--I am a mom of 3 and work 5 days a week--so probably a little different schedule. I am actually moving to a 12 hour 2 day a week schedule in the fall--as 5 days won't work with clinicals. I am doing an online program-so the first year of classes--patho, pharm, several writing courses--you study on your own and take exams every other week. Here is the difference in your BSN...I didn't really study much and had a 3.9 in undergrad...Grad school is very different--in that it is no longer general info--it's Mastery of info--and requires much more study. If you can take just one class per semester that first year--while you adjust to SICU-that's my advice. Also--all the classes the first year are general...and the work you do may change your mind or confirm even further what you would like to do. Then you can double up on classes the second year--it's very doable. I spend about 10 hours a week on classes like Adv. Patho/ Adv. Pharm....Best of luck...

Good questions hubby!
