To mention grad school during an interview or not

Published

Where do you see yourself In 5 years? If you mention you’d like to go back to grad school within that timeframe, that may not hire you. But if it’s the truth, and it means career growth, I don’t see any reason not to mention it. Of course I would throw in things about growing in THAT job and getting certified, but what about grad school?

I think there are a few ways to answer this..

1. In five years I see myself working towards a certification and becoming involved in the unit.. I would have to wait and see which aspect of unit involvement would be the best fit for me once I started.

2. In regards to grad school. --- Grad school has been on my mind. I would have to wait and see how my work/life balance is , my finances, and which program would be the best fit. I would also have to find a program best suited to my needs.

I think there is a way you can answer it without sounding like you will leave in two years.
