To LPN or not to LPN, that is my question!

I'm halfway through CNA class and considering options for the future. My instructor has told us that going for an LPN isn't worth the time because most hospitals won't hire them. I could use a bit of advice. Should I go for an LPN program, or just go for an ADN right off the bat? Also, being out of school for 20 years, any advice for getting ready to do this?

I advise everyone coming out the gate to go ahead for a BSN. It's not really any more classes than an ADN except for fluff gen eds, a research class, and a leadership class. It's extremely difficult to get a job as a LPN in my neck of the woods, moderately difficult to get a job as an ADN, and only somewhat difficult to get hired as a BSN. I'd stack the deck in your favor if I were you, but that's just me.
