Hello guys. I should be able to do this all by myself following the proper instructions given but I'm just a little confused with this whole process. I know that before I register for the actual Nclex exam, i need to be approved by the boards of nursing for my eligibility. So, do i need to send in the application for licensure with finger printing and criminal background check papers to the boards of nursing before i register for the exam? could anyone just explain the whole process to me in the right sequence please? I'd really appreciate it! Thanks.

Yes, at least in California you need to send in all your paperwork that they're requesting together or else they will kick it back to you. I'm not sure if you're in California but if you are, then you're going to be waiting a very long time. It took me from end of nursing school to get my license 5 long months, almost 6. Good Luck

My nursing school took care of this for me. All I had to do was get fingerprinted, fill out the application, and schedule the exam. Ask your school or BON.
They didn't require you to turn in the fingerprint application to them? Our school turned in everything for us including the fingerprinting application. All we had to do was to turn it in to them after we got it. Then pearsonvue contacted us with our ATI and then we scheduled the exam from there.
Yep, I said we had to get fingerprinted along with our application. Sounds like our process was the same.
I think most LVN/LPN programs are like this. Which is good because I'd be clueless out there trying to figure everything out.
Okay, let me make this clear now. I need to send in my application for licensure with fingerprinting and criminal background check first to the Michigan boards of nursing and then schedule the exam after I receive ATT, correct? Please let me know if I'm missing anything here. Thanks guys.
