I have notcied that there have been some 'Cleppers" here ? That is an awesome way to test out of some of the pre reqs. But how does it translate to your GPA ? Do you accually get a grade on your test or is it a pass/fail type of thing ? Thanks !

At my school clepping doesn't change your GPA. It simply removes the requirement to take the course. So if you are trying to raise your GPA you would probably want to take the course and get an A. If you are happy with your GPA it would make sense to clep.

The CLEP will not change your GPA. It will only give you credit hours.
I CLEP'd English Comp and Humanities and plan on CLEP'ing College Algebra before I start an RN-BSN program.
The CLEP tests save time and a lot of money. I received 6 Humanities credit hours for $85 and only a day or two or preparation.
If you are already very familiar with the material, you probably have a good chance of passing. A good way to gauge how well you will do is to take the practice tests in the official CLEP prep book.

If you are CLEPing to get into a BSN program, double check that your intended school accepts the test results. The one I want to attend only accepts CLEP credit for a few courses, which unfortunately, I had already taken when I was a sweet 18yo.

You better check the requirements of the school(s) you are hoping to get into. Many will not accept Cleps for program prereqs and sometimes not for other classes, either. It is all up to the individual program. It would be a real drag to pay your money, study, take the test and have it be worthless and then not have the time to take the actual class. It can be a good way to get some of the GEs out of the way.
