To change or not to change

So I have a decent job working for a facility that cares for peoples with mental disablities. I love my residents but the job is not exciting in the least. I have an interview with a hospital in the ER but they use LVN's in a tech capacity which means I won't really be doing any nursing? Any LVN's out there work in an ER as a tech? Any imput on what I should do if offered the ER job?

Sorry, I can't say I have any experience with this. In my community clinic we have LPNs who have been hired in our lab and mostly work just as a phlebotomist. If you have any interest in this job, I would definitely go to the interview and ask specifics about your duties then. If you feel you wouldn't be doing the tasks you want, then of course you can decline if you get an offer.

OP, I have no idea what a LPN tech does in the ED, but I'm a LPN, work in a community clinic and do all duties that entail nursing. The only RNs are the Nurse Practitioners. The rest of the staff are LPNs, with the lab person being a tech who got on the job training. The only MA is a lady who has been there for more than 30 years, but otherwise they have stopped hiring MAs. My duties are pretty varied so I get to use a lot of skills, so you might look into clinic nursing.

There is a small local hospital here that uses LPNs and RNs to do basically the same tasks, with the exception being IV pushes and more advanced, invasive procedures.
