Titainium Ring Cutters?

Published

Sorta weird question and maybe better for the ED but...FI and I were looking at rings for him and I noticed a large amount of titanium rings. The woman who worked there was really pushing themon us, and they are nice (esp if someone works in construction..FI pushes paper) BUT...what if some one was in an accident and had swelling. Do ED's have cutters that can get through these rings? The lady at the store said I was overreacting, but am I? Just dosn't seem like a good idea.

I know they have cutters for titanium rings but I doubt that most EDs have them handy.

I like the titanium rings. Very light compared to the other sets they have at most stores.

I don't know if you have checked out this site but this is where my other half got mine from: http://www.titaniumcommitment.com

Thanks for the link. I like them too. We also found some stainless steel rings that we loved.

My husband has titanium ring and he loves it because it is so light and is very durable (not to mention that it was a pretty good price compared to mine--I got off easy)

I've wondered lately about the titanium ring cutters too. I certainly didn't think about it when I picked out our (titanium) wedding rings 2 1/2 years ago! I love my ring though, so I guess it's worth the risk :p

I'm not a jewelry-wearer, I feel like rings weigh my fingers down. But my the titanium ring is so lightweight, I'm hardly aware of it. I love it!

I spoke to my other half today and he said he researched the whole titanium topic pretty well before buying the ring. He told me that the rings can be taken off with the cutters that are used for regular rings but just take about twice as long to get through the titanium. But he did say however that if they have an electric cutter that it's not a problem at all.

As far as the rings go.. its on the site that I posted. I loved it, it's awesome :)

I started this thread a while back and got these answers:

My husband LOVES his wedding band because he's never worn jewelry, and titanium isn't at all flashy. Also, he gets a kick out of spinning it on the table like a top. That thing will spin forever before it falls over!

My husband got a black titanium wedding band (I'm so jealous) since mine doesnt match (gotta get one for me now too) and it is so nice, lightweight and comfortable - But it did have to be molded by the company, or cast rather, and I know you cant make them bigger or smaller like gold bands....

On a note - there is a lot of titanium body jewelry too that people wear - I dont think that it is pure - but some is and may be difficult to get off in an emergeny situation

This was the ring I bought from the website.. err I meant he bought.

I was very surprised that the company even did bridal sets.

here's a link to the company I bought my & DH's rings from : RingsForever.com . Since I purchased them online, they sent a package of ring sizers for us to try on and pick out our proper size. The online & telephone customer support was excellent :)

These are our rings:

The only thing I regret is that my ring does not seem to be easily recognizable as a wedding band! A lot of people lately have not realized I was married

Don't worry I know how you feel, my ring is a large pave style ring. I can't wear a wedding band with it so it's both for me. Today I had a woman ask me if it was costume jewlery
