yay to being a sophomore in nursing school. this is a great accomplishment so far.
my advise for you is to continue to stay focus in school and strengthen your assessment and teaching skills. this will definitely help for NCLEX and definitely for real life nursing.
handy books that I have used in nursing school is a good dictionary, s/s book, drug book, patho.
if you want to start nclex soon, all i can suggestion is to get a really good comprehensive book like Hogans or Saunders. They can help with nursing school test too! Always review test questions and understand why you got your questions wrong. this helps to build your critical thinking.
TAKE YOUR TIME AND ENJOY NURSING SCHOOL!!! nclex comes later...

The best thing you can do at this point is to study with a purpose. Aim for a thorough understanding. Don't just cram for tests and then let everything go after the test. On a periodic basis do a review, whether or not you will have a cumulative final on the material. Remember, you are studying so that you know the material on the date you take the NCLEX and not just for the next test, then forgotten. Some people buy an NCLEX prep book and study questions from it during the school term. You can do this throughout school, then the material will be very familiar to you when you do your final review before the NCLEX. Good luck with your program.
