tips on how to review nclex while doing lots of things

Published

hi! i need some tips on how to review for my nclex. i'm having a hard time managing my time since i am currently working and when i get home i still have to take care of my 6 month old baby. any one who can share their magic with the same problem? thank you so much.

Moved your thread to the NCLEX Forum since it is not specific to those from your country.

There is no magic in preparing for this exam, it is going to require hard work and dedication on your part. There is no easy way, and add into that the fact that the passing rate is less than 45% if you are a foreign grad.

There is much posted on the NCLEX forum about preparing for the exam.

hi,where on the same situation i took nclex last yr,06 but unfortunately i failed im on my 11mos.preg.that time, then having a baby/4yrs.old son to take care and a husband too plus the chores, its really hard... i even started suzanne plan for my 2nd attempt but i wasnt able to finish it.so i decided to kept all my review materials, and give my time to my family first... but 1day just woke up looking for my review materials,im planning to take nclex this coming march 08,all we need is time management.what im doing right now is reading saunders following suzanne first tip if i ever get a chance, while my son is having a nap in day time,at night i put him on bed early...like suzanne said we really need dedication, hardwork and sacrifices on it...if you have strong determination to study for nclex right now you can do it,you will find way...only by yourselves, can help you on these...you're the one managing your time and owns your time...use your time wisely so iam...;):) goodluck! just relax and take it easy...

thanks for the advice renri..

i am in the same exact situation with renri. I was 5 months pregnant when i took my first exam last ear, i failed.. right now my baby is 5 months old so i'm about to take my 2nd attempt on Jan.7

hard work, time, dedication plus full concentration are the main things we should have in preparing nclex. i talked with my husband before i re-applied for nclex and start my review about helping me doing chores as well as understanding if i won't be able to do something inside our house..he understood and he helps me a lot.

HELP from family members is a big plus factor. so you better ask help from your family.

in your case, you're working, probably you should be studying in your off-duty hours, an hour or two or three is already good time allotment for studying but make sure you have the 100% concentration. then if you have more time available, get that opportunity to grab & read the book.

make flash cards or small notes that you can carry with you, so you have something to take a look every now and then (Saunder's book is too heavy..lol).
