Tips to passing NCLEX!!

Published

Hi guys :) I always said that once I pass this I will share my tips with people because I love hearing when people pass it makes me happy and its nice to help people. God has not brought you this far for nothing. Everything has a purpose in life and you've made it this far from finishing nursing school , clinicals and all the stress of memorizing so let's start :)

My experience, I had about 5 meds questions with no math , 1 mental health, a couple of OB, about 2 drop downs, some patient charts where you had to check the labs , CONTACT PRECAUTIONS

Tips

-know your labs and precautions without a doubt those will be on there

-my go to book was Saunders that is basically all I studied I highlighted and wrote notes in it . Exam cram didn't help me much. Perhaps just use it for the meds since it's really straight forward.

-make flash cards I had seriously like 800 flash cards but I didn't memorize them all lol just use them for your labs and precautions and keep going over them until you know them

- use this study guide . I used this and and Saunders and omg this study guide was sooo helpful!!!

just copy and paste it in your browser :)

it will help you know a little of every category of OB , general info , peds, medsurg... It's really good. Ps. For meds I did get some trade names along with generic . But in the safe side know the generic and the root for of the category example the heparins root word is parin [TABLE]

Hope this helped guys :)

Thankyou :)

Thank you for your post!!! I was on here last year and left a post myself. I loved to follow everyone's feeds. It helped me out so much when I was trying to pass the PN NCLEX. Now, this year I'm trying to pass the RN NCLEX! Once again I'm finding myself completely stressed out and going crazy!!! Here is my story in a nut shell: I'm a mother of three children (set of twins age 5, and an autistic son age 7). I stayed at home with them up until 3 years ago, which I began school full time. I just finished my Associates Degree in nursing and will start my BSN in the fall. My husband is training for the Police Academy right now as well. I also started working full time... all while studying for boards! So there you have it!!! I stay up late (which I work nights anyways) and study until the sun comes up. I feel like there is so much information to cover that I am on overload. I have ADHD (yah yah... doesn't everyone... no but really I do and it's a struggle) so adding that concentration issue on top of it makes the party even better. How I made it this far, I will never know! I think the big guy upstairs is watching out for me!!! So, what I am trying to say is, for anyone out there that has tips and words of encouragement, or just wants to get on here and share their story... PLEASE SHARE!! I think this is a great way for us nurses and future nurses to come together and show support for each other! Good luck to all and God Bless!!!! I will update you on how things go!!!

P.S.... I scheduled to take my boards on the 30th of this month. Only my husband, kids, best friend, and employer know the date, just in case I fail. Well, and now you all know!!!
