Yes, it's rough out there.

There are plenty of threads, and some sticky's (students section?) about maximiizing your job search and making your application the one that is noticed.

Not working at all?

See if you can find any job in a hospital that will get your foot in the door & make you contacts. Volunteer work will do the same thing.

Or, take any paying job. Working is better than not-working, and any money coming in is better than none. And any of these activities will add a few lines to your resume. The person with zero volunteer work, and zero work history is at a disadvantage.

Thanks! please let me know if you know of any hospitals that are hiring new grads or rn1.

did you put yourself on call for each day, you may never know who can't work that day but you could. =)

How about talking to your student services at school and see if they could sign you up for a daily email about job openings or better yet, call you when they get a call from employers. Keep in touch with your student services, they probably might just help you out even in the long run.

Yes, I put my self for on call each DAY. So far, nothing yet. :(

Job starts on September 1st. =) It's ok, you will get something. Just keep applying. I graduated back in December 2010 and licensed in May. So I know how you feel applying for jobs left and right and then feeling out of luck. Can you tutor a subject for extra cash or dog sitting/walking? Something to get some income?

Thanks! I will try that!
