Anyone who is in, or has been in, Florida's Loan Forgiveness program can you please tell me when to expect a payout? The deadline was Jan. 29th. I turned my paperwork in a few weeks ahead of the deadline and am not sure how long to wait before I contact them as to when to expect the payout or if they even got my paperwork. I realize working with a state agency I should be patient, but am curious.
Thanks to anyone who can help. :)
There are 4 application periods for which you can apply that determine your payout schedule. I applied during the Nov. 1 - Dec 1. period and my enrollment date was January 1, 2008 which meant that my 1 year commitment was fulfilled on Dec. 31, 2008. I received my payout last week. The following link might be helpful http://www.nslfp.com/index.htm
Looks like the next application period starts May 1st. If you work for a qualifying facility I would start to get all the paperwork in order now so that you can send it in as soon as enrollment opens. Although the facilities are ranked according to need and nurses the higher ranking facilities are awarded first, it is my understanding that it is also awarded on a first come basis per facility.
Like Tweety said there used to be a specific list of hospitals on the website but it looks like they removed it. You can call them at 1-800-342-8660 (Option 5) and they should be able to tell you if your facility qualifies. Good luck!

OK so do they pay out at the end of your year of employment, the fiscal year or what? I'm confused as when is their payout schedule and what is it based on?
