I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Hello everyone! I sent off my app via mail (fingerprints, check, etc), and it was delivered last Tues (9/6). I'm going to do license verification via nursys this week, and I have already mailed my education forms to my school. How will I know the status of my app if I applied via mail? Thanks in advance!
You can check on BreEZe, but it will be a few weeks before you show up on the site. Just check back periodically.Hello everyone! Yes, you will need to make an account. It will likely take a few weeks because even though they have received all your documents, it will still take them a bit to begin processing. At least that's how it was in my case.So I need to create a BreEZe acct? I applied all via mail. Thanks for replying!
I finally got my license!!!!! It took 9 weeks in total. Here is my timeline if it is at all helpful.
July 7 mailed payment, application, fingerprints
July 13 check cashed
Aug 8 called BON office multiple times (up to 30 times until I got through to someone) starting at 8:00 am
They told me it will take up to 20 weeks to get license because of all of the budget cuts. Also having all the new grads applying in the spring and summer slows things down. I asked them if I went directly to their office in Sacramento if it would help speed things up. They told me that would actually slow things down because they go off of the date that they actually receive the application which in my case was July 13 (when they cashed my check). Therefore, if I would go there directly, then the new processing date would be in August instead of July.
I had a great job offer, but they told me they were going to continue interviewing others for the job because they needed it filled. Out of desperation, I contacted Assembly Member Donald P. Wagner, Senator John Moorlach, Congresswoman Mimi Walters, Governor Jerry Brown, American Nurses Association, and the California Chapter of ANA in attempt to possibly make an impact. They all responded to me and acknowledged that they are aware of the problem and agree that something needs to be done. Unfortunately, as of now, they do not have a solution. Assembly member Donald P Wagner was the most helpful, as he had an assistant contact me multiple times to follow up on the progress. She also sent messages and phone calls to try to expedite the process, only to be told nothing can be done.
Sept 12: Saw my nursing license posted on BREEZE!!!!!!
I find it somewhat frustrating that they do not even send an email to notify you once you have been cleared. If I hadn't checked (as I did every morning at 8:00am) then who knows how long it would have been until I found out I was finally endorsed. Thank goodness I got it sooner then I had expected. I don't know if it was because of all the letters and phone calls I made or if they finally were able to speed up the process. One of the times I got through on the phone they told me that they had finally hired more help to process applications on Saturdays.
Sept 12: called the hospital to let them know I finally got my license to see if the job was still available, and it was and they offered it to me HOORAY!!!!!!
My advice: Don't give up!!!! Write lots of letters and phone calls. The only way things change is if others know what is going on. We need to make sure everyone knows that this process needs to be fixed.
Update to my missing state verification, after 6 calls I finally got through to BoRN today, my home state resent my verification but did so without me getting to tell them my entity number, I'm just happy they were able to do it. The woman I spoke with said to give them until 10/3 before I call again and that if my info was still missing that they would then have an analyst look into my missing verification. This is so frustrating, she also said that my hard card fingerprints still haven't been verified through the DOJ yet.
Omgomgomg! My license FINALLY WENT THROUGH. It wasn't there at 8am this morning (I checked) and now at 11am, it is!!!
I am CONVINCED that leaving a message for the supervisor AND following up with all the phone calls is what did it. If they tell you to wait and not call back- don't listen! Call back anyways!
I got my license on 09/08. Here is my timeline.
July 06: Submit my nursys verification
July 06: Request transcripts from schools to be sent to the SBON
July 08: Visit SoCal to have livescan finger prints completed
July 13: Submit my application online
August 09: Visit SBON in Sacramento to get an update on my application
Sept 08: My RN license posted

My status disappeared on Thursday 9/8
this was after it changed from missing education to "open" on 8/23. I was hopeful that this would mean that I'm close but with everyone elses status disappearance I'm nervous.
