Joe, congrats on meeting your weight loss goal.
Stars, sometimes we'll be sitting around in the living room and Gma will say out of nowhere, "I'm peeing." Well, OK, then. Thanks for the update 🙂
Flying to Charlotte tomorrow and trying to wrap up here as much as possible. Then next weekend our friends from Indiana should be coming through, although we are short on details. Hubs wants to take them sailing, which is why he has been spending so much time working on the boat.
86 degrees for a high, which 'feels like' 93 degrees. Cloudy with 76 % humidity and 57% chance of rain at 1 PM, 4 PM and 5 PM. Summer is officially over, but this ain't FALL weather. One of the oak trees is shedding huge acorns and the oak further down in the yard hasn't started dropping those (not quite big enough yet.) Tinker likes to hide an acorn in her mouth and I find it when she starts to chew on it, and take it away from her, Have to get her another nubby chew bone or two because she likes chewing them and they don't get gummy like rawhide does. I'm afraid she will try to swallow the last bit of the still 'hard', not gummy rawhide and choke, so no rawhide for her!
All the grocery shopping I did yesterday and I forgot Nannie's yogurts! So that's one of the things I have to do today. The CG is coming at 1:30 PM, so I better get the Nannie-person up and dressed, fed and medicated. Other than that I have dishes to wash, trash to gather, and prolly some laundry, too.
Got a notice from the car dealership that it was time for a service visit, and they estimated my mileage might be 52, 041 miles, when, if fact it is 44,060. Poor computer doesn't realize how little I drive these days!
I was 156.5 lbs on the doc's scale, and my BP was 127/40. I decided not to get a prescription for IBS-D and instead and I am going to keep the OTC Loperidine as a PRN as I have been doing, and she said to get some yogurt and kefir. (I actually LIKE kefir.) Here's hoping!
Welp, I better stop now and do my Nannie-duty so she will be up when CG gets here.
It is only 60 degrees but 74% humidity. I walked the dogs and came home feeling a clammy. Yuck. The sky is hazy with fog. South of us, near Seattle, they are getting smoke from the east and the west. Rain is forecast for the weekend, I hope it quenches fires and doesn't spark any new ones.
I volunteered at the demo garden, then home to catch up on dishes and laundry. I've been working on editing a newsletter, but I definitely lack the computer skills to line of the boxes and texts and pictures. I am hoping someone will volunteer to take it over after we send out the first issue, LOL. The Mariners won their division, and dh tried to go online and get tickets for the playoffs, but they were snatched up quickly.
Tuesday night I placed second to last in Trivia. ds got mad, and stormed off, so I didn't have his help with the music round. He is much like his father that way. He hasn't talked to me in 2 days, and I suspect something at work is bugging him.
Joe, congrats on your weight loss. I am working on that myself. I am waiting until October to get flu and COVID shots. It's been generally recommended to wait until later to get flu shots, especially for seniors, as the virus moves from east to west across the country.
We never give raw hide to our dogs. I have had to pull gooey pieces out of dogs' throats more than once. dh has been buying sheep hooves for our dogs and they keep them busy.
Still no rain, but there is supposed to be some overnight. When I was coming back from bringing the trash barrels to the end of the driveway, there was a HUGE flash of lightning in the sky to the west, so maybe the rain is on the way.
Have actually gotten the terrible three "musts" done. I can go to bed with no dishes, trash or laundry on my mind.
Tomorrow when I go to the hearing aid place, she will have to crank the sound back up to 80%, because where it is now (73%?) now I feel like I have cotton stuffed in my ears. I cleaned my ears, replaced the batteries, changed the wax-trap....and I still don't feel like the left earpiece doesn't 'sit' where it is supposed to.....or maybe my left ear being the "blindest" to sounds, maybe when it is turned up things will balance out, I sure hope so. The way I am hearing things now, it's kind of like my head and sinuses are clogged, but they aren't.
It is 10 PM and time to put Nannie to bed, but my last load of laundry (my clothes) has to finish drying, so I am going to 'let' Nannie stay up until the clothes are dry. I have to get her up in the morning for BiL to take her to the Senior Center. I got a text from SiL reminding me (because I forget, since it seems to change every week).....and SHE said, "You will have to get Nannie up and dressed in the morning so (BiL) can drive her to the Center, and then you can pick her up at the end of her day. I am going to the beach for the weekend". I reined in my sarcasm and did not answer, "Oh, can I really get up early and then go get her in the afternoon?" and I REALLY would like to ask, "What will you do with Nannie when (not 'if') *I* go to the beach?" It is, of course, highly unlikely I will drive all the way to the beach and rent a room and stay for several days. But PPFFTT! I mean, I don't even get two days in a row with NO Nannie-duty, Yah, well, okay, we all know that, so once again I will halt this carping, beyotching and moaning.

Stars hopefully the doctor has soon good suggestions for you
Work again had some crazy moments in the middle of the day, but overall was pretty good and mostly calm. Getting better about keeping the perfectionism under control. After work got my Covid shot and exercised
Today have a work meeting, and exercise, but otherwise should be a pretty ordinary day
Going to be a bit cooler, mid 70s today, little warmer the next few days then cooler again next week
