Stars glad you were watching her with those meds

Dianah glad the repairs proved minor if expensive

Hi Tweety and Ado

NJ22 a massage sounds nice

Was a busier than expected day at work, at least in the morning with many documents to review.  Things improved by the afternoon.  Hoping today is a better pace

After work went out to dinner with the over 50 group, had a good turnout and was a nice time.  Traffic wasn't bad, thankfully

Today will be flexing my hours at work a bit.  The counselor wants to see me in person for our final visit (for now at least) so I'll start a bit early and work a bit late to compensate.  Otherwise should be a normal day

Weather remains the same, mid 70s.  Rain will hold off until the weekend

Good Afternoon~

It's supposed to rain all day, and I don't feel like doing anything, and I sure don't want to drive all the way out to the dealership in the rain. Since I am a grown-up and can make such decisions, I called and cancelled today's appt, rescheduled for next Thursday. I asked for a 2 PM appt again and the lady said they only had 2:15 and 2:30 appts....kind of made me laugh, like don't some doctor's schedule their appts in 15-20 minute increments? It was for wheel alignment, and that may be crucial but it isn't critical! And besides, I don't wanna go today!

In a little while I will have to go out to get milk and cran juice and a few other things, and SiL is supposed to re-supply the jumbo night-time pads and BOOST. But otherwise I plan to take it easy. I have things I can do in my room, or in the other two rooms upstairs here,  IF I feel so inclined. But, no pressure! If I didn't have to get the milk, yogurt, etc, I would not go out at all! This morning I gave Nannie a bowl of raisin bran with jumbo sweet blueberries in it. Good for the bowels, doncha know!

I don't know if the person we had previously cut our hair is still working. I'm going to call and see. Frankly, although SiL is an actual real hairdresser, she is more used to dealing with little old ladies with thin hair. I have a lot of hair, kinda straight and thick, and I don't need curls or a perm; I just want a sort of Buster Brown/Dora the Explorer cut, but definitely NOT as short as those two characters. I want a page-boy, just about a little longer than chin length. I wish I could still cut my own hair, it is cheaper and *I* do a better job, but can't get the back of my hair above the nape of my neck without the right kind of scissors (bandage shears is what I always used) or the right kind of mirror set-up where I can see the back of my head. Oh well, and dammit!

Although I am hard of hearing, I can still hear every word of Chatty CG who is downstairs in the den. After I go out and come back, I may close my bedroom door and put on some cd's

The TV channels are going nuts with the weather coverage! I saw on their map, that the storm is going to go West , not over us, and veer over toward Tennessee. We are going to have, and have had rain, and it will continue on into tomorrow. There are lots of flash flood warnings and watches, but like I've said before, we aren't in an area where we have to worry about flooding. I had the dehumidifier on, in the corner where the den used to leak (and still does?) but it is so loud, I had to turn it off for a while. I better remember to turn it back on in a little while so we don't get a little river coming in where it had done so before!  The first time it ever happened, the water went across the den floor, into the hall and into Nannie's bedroom. That was an exhausting time of constantly changing the towels on the floor and tossing them in the dryer for re-use sopping up the water.

The weatherman said "Check to see that your cell phone battery is charged, in case we lose power." and I ran around trying to find the charger. Found two chargers that were too big for my phone! Finally I DID find the right one, and so the phone is charging.....but if the power goes out, doesn't it affect cell phones? I dunno. Don't think we'll need it for anything. All the flashlights have fresh batteries. We seldom lose power here, though, so I guess we are going to be OK!

I gave Nannie some more of SiL's homemade chicken pot pie (loaded with veggies) and a big tossed salad, plus a bowl of mixed fruit salad, and a larger glass of cran juice tonight. With the raisin bran and blueberries and milk from this morning, that ought to be plenty of fiber! Now if only it will MOOOOOVE on out, without having to be encouraged by my beckoning (gloved) finger!

Two hours and twelve minutes until Nannie's bedtime! 😴

Everyone stay safe and dry if there's any part of these storms in your area!

Stay safe, all who are in the path of Helene!  Tweety, I hope your power comes on soon, what a problem to be without it!

Yes, stay safe all in the path of the storm!

The boys just got back from a movie. It was a really pretty day. I sat outside after supper for a bit until the mosquitoes drove me in.

Our little town is hosting a music festival Saturday with some local bands. The headliner is a "hometown boy" who has relocated to Nashville and has had some success touring. He was one of the performers Elton John did something special with. And he's done Austin City Limits and Conan O'Brien's show. His aunt was in my class in high school. Innie-waay...he really is a good musician and should draw crowds. The hospital is manning a first aid tent so I will spend some time doing that.

Sunday evening is book club. I think. I'd better verify.
