Ado I'm sorry to hear about your sister in law's diagnosis

Stars I wonder if it's because so many people are having allergy issues lately

Dianah sounds like you did a lot of preparation for your trip

Tweety hope the work day was better for you

Work was pretty good  for me yesterday,  nothing unusual, not a whole lot of work.  Got my bimonthly review which went very well

After work did the grocery shopping and exercised.  Texted with J, he had cataract surgery on his other eye this week

Should be a quiet day apart from work.  Will talk with dad tonight regarding my nephew's graduation at the end of the month

Should get up into the low 80s today

Good Afternoon to one and all~

The sister-in-law drove by with a small bunch of flowers that were in a pitiful state, droopy and pathetic. She also brought over a cake that was three cakes divided up into wedges...one strawberry, one chocolate, one vanilla. NO card saying "Happy Mother's Day". Hubby and I agreed that the flowers were so awful looking that we'd just pitch them out.

My timing was perfect, I was arriving at the front door to go sit out on the porch to drink coffee. So all I had to do was take the flowers and cake and say thanks. She "apologized" that she hadn't baked a cake herself, but she's been "so busy." I was just glad she didn't come in, so she didn't get to spread any gossip about what horrible housekeepers we are! She was also 'shocked' that Nannie was not up yet, because "it's kind of late." Hubby said, "She always sleeps late, it's not like she has anywhere to go." Maybe that'll give her something to gossip about. Anyway, after Nannie has her yogurt and pills she always falls asleep again, in the recliner.

Nannie is getting whackier and has done or said a few things this past week that have us giving each other the side-eye, like "Uh-oh, here she goes again." I wish I could recall a couple of examples, but as soon as I sat down with my laptop, the anecdotes disappeared from my brain. I hate it when that happens.

Maybe I'll remember them later. Right now I have to run out for milk and cran-apple juice. It's always something!

Later~

Good evening!

My elderly parents sleep a lot.  This would have been my grandmother's 113th birthday.  She passed away in the mid-50's of a heart attack.

Work was better today but busy.  I was in charge with only a two-patient assignment.

I was so tired I did manage to stay asleep last night but took trazodone and clonazepam both.  My doc doesn't have a decent portal so I texted his cell phone and he renewed my scripts.  I just can't seem to sleep naturally.  Maybe when I retire.

I'm working tomorrow in charge again to cover a shift for a coworker who will cover mine on Saturday.  Then I work Sunday and Monday.

Lots of negativity being spewed out by the techs lately.  I hate that we had to combine with them.  It's a tough demanding floor and to have them bicker about "nurses never do nothing" is maddening.  My filter is going to drop soon.

Bleh.

Good evening. The weather is getting warmer here. We have a heat advisor for Sunday and Monday, possible up to 90. That probably doesn't sound that bad to some, but only about 30% of homes have air-conditioning. It got up to about 75 today. I went for a nice bike ride, and then home to garden. I developed a nasty headache, so quit to let some tylenol work. I ended up taking a 2 hour nap. I guess I haven't been sleeping well as I just can't seem to get comfortable with achy joints. youngest ds brought home KFC for dinner, which was tasty but so salty!

Annie, that is sad about your SIL. Hopefully it's been caught early and she can make a full recovery.

Joe, congrats on your positive work review.

Tweety, I'm always amazed that techs have the gall to criticize nurses' workload. I for one, used to enjoy filling in as a tech and having a break from charting.
